2024 was a landmark year for Sacred Heart Foodbank!
We officially became a registered charity, strengthened our governance, and delivered 47 foodbank sessions—providing essential food, toiletries, cleaning items, and hot meals to households across Islington and nearby boroughs. Despite facing a mid-year funding crisis, generous support from donors and grant-makers enabled us to stabilise our finances, resume registrations, and expand our partnerships, including new links with Age UK Islington for specialist support services.
We continued our mission to reduce food insecurity and social isolation, distributing nearly 2,500 bags of household essentials and creating a warm, welcoming space for our clients. Looking ahead to 2025, we plan to deepen our impact by improving access to fresh food, strengthening our data and impact measurement, and developing our advocacy work.
